母乳育児は、母子ともに多くの恩恵があることが知られている。その支援として、出産直後である産後早期の乳管開通法やその後の期間でも乳汁のうっ滞による乳房トラブルなどに対する授乳指導や搾乳指導等がある。そのため、看護者はそれらの看護技術を習得することが必要である。そのため、本研究では、母乳育児支援を行う看護者が適切な看護技術を習得するための教材として乳房モデルを作製することを目的として調査を段階的に進めている。これまでに、第一段階として、「授乳期の母親における好発する乳管閉塞部位の特定」を調査し、次に「乳管閉塞に伴う乳汁うっ滞部位の形状の明確化」、さらに「試作としての乳房モデルの作製」を調査、実施してきた。第一段階の調査①では乳汁うっ滞の好発部位が特定され第二段階である調査②では看護者の手の位置がわかった。これらの結果をもとに、乳房モデルの試作品を作製した。またこれと並行して、第一、第二段階まで調査した結果、ベテラン助産師の手指の位置や動き、圧力についても検討した結果を反映して、さらに作製した乳房モデルの試作品の改良が必要であると考えられる。
