3歳健診の受診者を対象に、Spot Vision Screener（簡易屈折スクリーニング機器：以下SVS）による簡易屈折スクリーニング検査を実施し、屈折率の結果を収集する。その結果を日本弱視斜視学会・日本小児眼科学会から出されているスクリーニング基準案を利用して、異常値がみられた場合の眼科医の診察結果と照合し、「陽性的中度・感度特異度」を算出し、「3歳児健診の屈折率標準値」を作成することが目的である。研究協力の得られた種子島の3自治体に説明文書等の必要書類を送付し、3歳児健診受診者で同意の得られた児のSVS検査結果データを収集する準備が整った時期に、新型コロナウイルス流行の影響で健診が集団から個別に対応するなど健診体制の変更があり、1年間調査を実施できなかった。その後、新型コロナウイルス流行下での健診体制が確立したため、令和3年より、調査を開始することができた。令和4年度は、3自治体より138人のデータが収集できた。スクリーニングで異常値が出た5名が眼科での精密検査の対象となり、得られた3名分の結果から、うち１人が治療を開始できている。昨年以降、あらたに187名のデータを収集し、精密検査の対象となったうちの4名が遠視・乱視で経過観察となり、さらに4名が屈折性弱視・不同視弱視で治療を開始できている。スクリーニング検査により、異常の早期発見・早期治療に繋がっていると考える。1年間の延長申請をし、今年が最終年度であるため、健診でのSVSの検査結果と異常値が見られた場合の眼科での精密検査結果のデータを入力、整理しながら解析を進めまとめていく。
