COVID-19の世界的な感染拡大により、日本国内の全国移植者スポーツ大会は休止され、世界移植者スポーツ大会への選手派遣も中止されており、大会視察はできない現状にあった。2023年4月からようやく夏季大会がオーストラリアのパースで開催され、2024年3月にはイタリアで冬季大会が開催される予定であるため、従来の研究計画通り、冬季大会の視察を検討する。その現状を踏まえ、日本の固形臓器移植者、および臓器移植者のスポーツ実施状況と競技スポーツ実施状況、日常的な運動・スポーツ実施状況の把握に努めることとする。そのための質問項目等を選定、検討中である。また、World Transplant Games Federation（WTGF）によって2023年のパース大会の参加者調査が実施されていることから、WTGFの二次データ利用申請を行うことを検討している。
