日本人英語学習者の英語産出（特にライティング）における文法（特に構文知識）の影響をテーマとして研究を継続している。その中で、構文知識（多岐選択問題の正解率）とライティング評価の相関分析を通して、構文知識の重要性を検証している。昨今はライティングにおいても、機械翻訳の躍進などもあり、形式よりも内容重視の傾向があるため、2022年度においては、構文知識がライティングに与える影響の一つとして、ライティング評価指標とフィードバックの方法を検証することを目的に二つの論文を執筆した。特徴としては、これまでの伝統的な評価及びフィードバック方法、すなわち形式重視の方法ではなく、内容に特化した評価及びフィードバックを与えることによる影響を検証したことである。いづれの論文においても、事前に学生に評価とフィードバックの方法を伝えることによって、ライティングの内容評価は高いという結果が示された。ただし、分析結果に基づくと影響の程度はまだ明確とは言えないので、引き続き分析手法を改善しつつ、結果の信頼性を高めていきたい。検証を重ねることで、今後のライティング評価およびフィードバックの手法を見直す機会となれば幸いである。
