当該年度では、研究実施者の体調不良により、予定通りに研究をすすめることが難しい状況にあった。また、昨年から引き続きコロナ禍による衛生管理体制の厳格化により、データの収集が困難であった。そのため、今後実施予定である知的障害者施設での取調べの模擬実験のため、知的障害者に対する取り調べ技法について検討を行った。これまで明らかになったこととして、知的障害者の被疑者取調べは、被尋問者（知的障害者）が質問からずれた応答をしたでも、取調官（警察官）がそれを訂正せず、話し手の語りを促すような発話をしていた。しかしながら、質問に対する適切な回答を得られないことは、結果的に内容不十分な取調べとなる可能性が考えられる。またその穴を埋めるために、取調官による内容の補填が行われる可能性もありうる（故意でない場合も含まれる）。そのため、被尋問者が質問からずれた応答をした際には、本来の質問に対する回答を得るべく、コミュニケーションをデザインする必要がある。従来の認知面接法やイギリス式取調べ技法であるPEACE等を鑑みると、およそ次のような構造が考えられる。すなわち、（1）ラポールの形成、（2）被疑事実の確認、（3）自由報告、（4）質問段階、（5）終結段階である。なお、（2）被疑事実の確認段階では、被疑事実を認める（自白）場合と、認めない（否認）場合に分けられ、（3）以降は被尋問者がどちらを回答したかによって場合分けがされる。
