项目摘要

引き続き中・低所得国における対外債務の起債通貨選択と、マクロ経済環境や家計の消費行動との関係を解明するための計量分析を行った。成果の一部をワーキングペーパーとして欧州のCenter for Economic Studies & Ifo Instituteから発表したうえ、国際学術誌へ投稿して査読審査を受けた。複数のレフリーやエディターから寄せられた建設的批判や提言等のフィードバックを受けて、改訂と再提出を行っており近い将来に公刊される見込みである。これまでの研究結果からは、中・低所得国が海外から借り入れを行う際の起債通貨ポートフォリオ構成について、経済学理論がリスク回避の観点から提唱するポートフォリオの分散とは逆に特定の通貨に集中させる傾向があることが分かった。意外なことに、このようなポートフォリオの集中傾向は、世界の金融市場においてドルとの競合が予想されたユーロの登場以来かえって強化されている。起債通貨のポートフォリオ構成に基づく対外債務ベースの実効為替レートのデータを構築し、景気循環との関係を示すdebt-based effective exchange rate cyclicalityの推定を行った結果、起債通貨の集中は実効為替レートの従景気循環性（pro-cyclicality)を強める効果を持つことが判明した。更に対外債務ベースの実効為替レートの従景気循環性は家計の最終消費のボラティリティを増幅する有意な効果を持つという計量分析結果を得たが、その推定方法や結果の頑健性を巡って海外の複数の専門家（上記レフリーやエディターを含む）から寄せられた指摘や助言をもとに推定の精度改善を模索し、研究の完成に向けた見直し作業を行った。
