本研究の最終目標は、労働者のインセンティブ体系としての適切な賃金決定に関する現状を把握し問題点を発見することにあり、給与体系により労働者の生産性を上げるための最適企業戦略を提言することである。平成30年度はまず賃金決定に関する現状を把握するため、賃金構造基本統計調査を用いた実証分析を行った。その分析の中では、解雇確率の上昇が起こった1997年以後、景気に対する賃金感応度にどのような変化が起こったのかを検証した。検証の結果、1997年の解雇拡大の影響を受けやすいような、非正規雇用者が多く含まれる低所得者の賃金は1997年を境に反景気循環的となった一方で、比較的雇用の安定している高所得者に関しては、景気に対する賃金感応度は変わらないことが明らかとなった。この発見は、1997年を境に一般的な不況期の格差拡大は緩和される方向に変化するということを示唆する。それを確認するために、DiNardo, Fortin, and Lemieux (1996)のDFL分解を用いて、1997年以前の雇用慣行がリーマンショック時にも続いていたとしたら賃金分布がどうなっていたかを表す仮想現実的な賃金分布を構築した。その結果、「低所得層の賃金は1997年の雇用変化が起こらなければ実際よりも下がっていた」ということが示された。この発見は1997年の雇用慣行の変化が、不況期の賃金格差の緩和に貢献したことを意味している。上記の研究は、"Inequality through Wage Response to the Business Cycle; Evidence from the FFL Decomposition Method," 2019, Journal of the Japanese and International Economies, 51, pp. 87-98として、海外学術雑誌に掲載された。
