本研究は、①幼老複合施設の本邦及びドイツでの現状を把握し、②幼児と交流を持つことによる高齢者特有の病態の発症抑制もしくは増悪抑止効果を中心に、他の内科疾患に関しても未知の医学的効果をランダム化比較試験により検討することを目的として開始した。副次的に、高齢者が幼児の成長へ与える影響及び予想される有害事象も検討予定である。これまでに、①関連する領域の各科専門医に対する質問紙調査、②世代間交流を行っている施設に対する交流の現状についての質問紙調査、③世代間交流に参加した成人に対する質問紙調査、④国内及びドイツにおける施設の視察を行った。令和2年1月以降、妊娠初期の体調不良と妊娠障害が続き、その後、産前・産後休業と育児休業に伴う研究中断期に入った。研究代表者の妊娠、出産に加えて新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大により、令和2年度以降は調査や視察が非常に困難で、研究を計画通り行えていない。令和4年4月から研究を再開した。1)「世代間交流事業に参加した祖父母世代の成人への交流に関する意識調査」志村華絵2023年9月発行　日本世代間交流学会誌13巻1号に掲載予定である。2) 日本世代間交流学会　第13回全国大会にて口演発表した（2022年9月3日）。「世代間交流事業の参加者に対するコロナ禍以前の意識調査-with corona時代へのメッセージとは-」志村華絵
