本研究の目的は，「認知症高齢者の自発摂食評価表(Self-Feeding behaviors' assessment tool for the elderly with Dementia:SFD)」が，アルツハイマー型認知症と血管性認知症のみならず，レビー小体型認知症にも適用可能かどうか，信頼性と妥当性，さらにPre-post designによるSFDの有効性を検証することである．全国の老人看護専門看護師と認知症看護認定看護師を対象に，郵送法による自記式質問紙調査を実施した．信頼性は，再検査法，評価者間信頼性，内的整合性について検討し，妥当性はCDR，MMSE，Barthel Index(BI)との基準関連妥当性を検討した．その結果，SFDはDLB高齢者に対しても信頼性と妥当性を認めた。また，SFDの「摂食困難の把握」「ケアの評価」「各項目の難易度」「記入所要時間」に関するアンケート結果の分析を行い，改訂版SFDを作成した．SFDによる「摂食困難の把握」と「ケアの評価」は各々93.2%が「そう思う」と回答し実践への活用が評価され，「記入所要時間」の中央値は2.0(1.0-5.0)分と短時間であった．「各項目の難易度」は「巧緻」以外の9項目は88.8～97.0%が「簡単」と回答したが，「巧緻」のみ77.8%とやや低かったため文言を追加し，評価方法に注釈を追加した．研究成果の公表については，IAGG2019（国際老年学会アジア・オセアニア地域大会）で発表した．2020年度は，Pre-post designによるSFDの有効性の検証を行う予定であったが，所属研究機関退職に伴う資格消失により、研究を廃止した．
