项目摘要

今年度は、日本レヴュー史研究の最終まとめとして、戦後ヌードレヴューにおける身体統制と身体美のイデオロギーについて、研究し、発表した。１）東宝のヌードレヴュー劇場と、戦後を代表する伝統演劇の前衛演出家である武智鉄二の交錯の意義を、身体統制と身体美という側面から明らかにした。武智は東宝のヌードレヴュー劇場で、伝統芸能である能をヌードで上演したが、現在から振り返ると、それが武智鉄二本人にとって、また東宝のヌードレヴュー劇場にとって、日本人としての身体美および身体制度について考え直す、ターニングポイントとなっていたことがわかった。２）昨年度末に行ったアメリカ国立公文書館でのGHQ／SCAP資料の調査をもとに、占領期日本演劇のレヴューの検閲や統制について、これまで不透明であった占領軍側の立場を明らかにした。残された検閲資料や会議録から、実際にどのような検閲が行われていたのか、どのような会議が行われ、日本の演劇人たちとどのような交渉が行われていたのかなどについて、日本側の報道や記録とは異なる側面を分析した。その結果、占領期におけるヌードレヴューの規制の背景には、ヌードレヴューを鑑賞しに行っていた占領軍の兵士たちを統制・保護するという側面があったということがわかった。こうした事実の解明により、日本における戦後レヴューの展開において、ヌードレヴュー実践者たちの言説に基づいたこれまでの研究に、占領軍側の交渉を反映することができた。３）占領期レヴューの検閲について、アメリカ国立公文書館および早稲田大学演劇博物館所蔵の検閲台本や会議録を分析した。その結果、検閲の実態を明らかにするとともに、舞踊の検閲の難しさもまた、浮き彫りにすることができた。舞踊の検閲台本を検証することは、舞踊のアーカイブ方法について考えることにつながるもので、本研究が、広く舞踊研究にも寄与しうることが示唆された。
