项目摘要

現代において，運転を継続するか中止するかを選択することは，高齢期における重要な意思決定の一つである．自身の状態を適切に認識した上で，免許返納あるいは免許更新の判断を行うことが望まれる一方，運転中止は心理社会的側面に悪影響を及ぼすことが指摘されてきた．しかしながら，免許返納者の運転中止に対する心理や，不満足な運転中止に至らない意思決定のあり方についての検討は不十分である．したがって，第一に，免許保有者と免許返納者の意識の違いを明らかにするために実施したオンライン調査のデータを分析した。免許保有者の免許返納意図の関連要因の検討，そして免許返納者の自身の選択に対する満足感の関連要因を検討した。その結果，免許保有群の約7割が将来返納するを選択しており，男性より女性，運転の必要度が低く，雨天や夜間など悪条件での運転を避けている者ほど免許返納を選択することが示された。免許返納群の約7割が運転中止という自身の選択に満足しており，リスクを高く見積もり，免許を保有しないことの損失が少なく，当時違反をしないように交通標識を注意してみるといった対処をしていた者ほど，自身の選択に対する満足感が高いことが示された。また，先行研究では定点的な検討に留まり，どのようなプロセスを経て免許返納に至るのか，その過程に着目した検討はなされていない．したがって，免許証を取得してから自主的に返納するまでのプロセスを明らかにすることを目的に，運転免許証を自主的に返納した高齢者を対象に，半構造化面接を実施し，その語りについて，サトウ（2006）による複線径路等至性モデリング（TEM）を用いて質的分析を行った。その結果，免許返納を選択した者には共通点が抽出された一方，生じる順番や免許返納後の生活を想定した対処には差異も見られ，多様性が確認された．
