2022年春から夏にかけて、本研究課題で吸盤を含む付着器官の形態観察を予定していた複数の分類群を採集した。得られた個体は、分子系統解析用に一部を切り取って99%エタノールで固定後残りの部分を付着器官の形態観察用にグルタールアルデヒドで固定した。透過型電子顕微鏡での観察と、筋繊維の蛍光染色を用いた観察のために、当初予定していた5分類群のうち2分類群に属する種の標本を用意した。残る3分類群は、8月に予定していたサンプリングが悪天候で中止となり標本を得ることができなかった。標本を用意できた2分類群の詳細な付着器官の形態観察と、残る3分類群の採集・形態観察は次年度以降に実施予定である。本研究課題で形態観察の対象としている、吸盤獲得への中間段階と考えられる「付着器」をもつボニニア科に属する種について、形態観察と遺伝的解析を行なった結果未記載種であることが判明したため、新種として記載した。次年度以降、吸盤形態の進化史研究を行なう上で必要な分類学的基盤を整えた。
