To understand the function of Hairless (Hr) in metabolism, we tried to develop a novel model mouse series in which Hr gene is conditionally targeted or over-expressed in a tissue-specific manner. Using Cre-loxP system, we developed conditional knockout mice of Hr gene, and CAG-loxP-CAT-pA-loxP-Hr transgenic mice that conditionally overexpress Hr gene. We also developed skeletal muscle specific Cre mice expressing Cre recombinase driven by Creatine kinase, muscle promoter. Using these genetically modified mice, we generated skeletal muscle specific Hr targeted
