项目摘要

新型コロナウィルス感染症（COVID-19）蔓延およびそれに伴う行動・旅行規制が緩和した本年度は、現地カウンターパートであるNational Research and Innovation Agency（インドネシア国立研究革新庁）のサポートの下、実際に現地フィールドに渡航し、おもに以下について調査を実施した。都市スラムで働くサニテーション・ワーカーのメンタルヘルス：ストリート・クリーナー（路上清掃人）およびごみ集積場で働くごみ収集人それぞれに対し、既存の質問紙を用いてうつ病スクリーニングを実施したところ、うつ症状に関しては、「中等度のうつ症状（Moderate）」を示す割合がそれぞれ80％、70％を超えており（おもに30代後半～60代前半に集中）、「重度のうつ症状（Severe）」を抱える者が30％ほど確認されたことから、精神的健康に深刻な影響をおよぼしていることが懸念される。また、不安および、スティグマ（特に外見への蔑視）と関係があるとされる、他者からの自身の外見への評価に対する恐怖（Fear of Negative Appearance Evaluation）は、うつ症状を誘発する因子であることが明らかとなった。さらに、COVID-19への感染恐怖（Fear of COVID-19）およびうつ症状は、不安症状の寄与因子であることが示された。個人の精神的健康に影響をおよぼすその他の要因について、対象者ほぼ全員に対し詳細な聞き取り調査を実施し、現在主題分析が進行中である。上述の調査結果の一部に基づいて、すでに国際シンポジウム等で発信を行っている。
