本研究は，犯罪被害により同胞と死別したきょうだい（以下，きょうだい）のレジリエンスと心の変容を調査し，きょうだいの回復の様相を多角的な視点から明らかにすることを目的とした。本研究は3つの研究から成るが，現在は研究1（1-1，1-2）のインタビュー調査を実施している。具体的には，研究1-1において，被害時～現在の，個人要因と環境要因の相互作用によって生じる意味づけを主軸としたレジリエンス（回復過程）を検討し，研究1-2では社会活動を行っているきょうだいを対象に，活動を実施するに至った心の変容過程を検討した。インタビューでは，きょうだいの回復に重要であった自身の取り組みや具体的なサポート, きょうだい特有の心の変化及び心情等も明らかとなっている。また，現在被害に関する社会活動を行っているきょうだいからは，社会活動を行う親と異なる心情も示されている。さらに，実際にインタビューを実施することを通じて，遺族からはその発達段階や心情の変化に応じたサポートの必要性が語られており，本研究の目的である「遺族の心情や回復過程の理解」を検討していくためには，発達的視点を加味したデータ分析等，当初の研究目的とは異なる視点からデータを分析する必要があることも明らかとなっている。インタビューを通じて，新たな視点から分析を行う必要性が示されたこと自体，本研究の大きな意義であると考えられる。犯罪被害者遺族の中でも，きょうだいに対する研究は比較的乏しく，その支援にも課題が多い。本研究がきょうだいに対する心理的支援の発展に貢献できるよう，今後も研究を進めていく。
