今年度は、木村正辞『万葉集美夫君志』の成立に深く関与する文献である、「三辨證」（『万葉集文字辨證』『万葉集訓義辨證』『万葉集字音弁證』）の引用文献の調査を実施し、木村の出典考証の方法を検討した。「三辨證」においては、漢籍・仏典・和書について計290種類以上の資料が引用されていることが確認され、木村が実際に参照した文献数は、その引用数をはるかに上回っていたことが推察される。木村の論証手法は、和書における文字の通用例を確認し、その文字が漢籍・仏典においても通用する文字であることを確認するのが基本のパターンである。使用される文献の幅は和書・漢籍いずれも古代から近世にいたるまで幅広く、文献のジャンルも、儒教・思想書・史書・地理書・辞書字書類・韻書・詩歌集・歌学書・説話物語・碑文・本草・随筆・仏典（音義・注疏）など、多岐に及ぶ。字義の解説においては、殊に韻書を重視する傾向にあり、辞書類においては日中韓の写本・版本の違いにまで目を配っている箇所も見受けられた。さらに、漢籍の儒教、史書、思想書においては多くの注疏を参看・引用しており、文字の訓義を徹底的に追求する態度により、引用文献を抽出している。それらの資料をいかにして検索し得たのかについては、現在解明の途上である。さらに、「三辨證」の草稿本の調査も実施した。今年度の調査は、草稿の全体像の把握に努めるフェーズとなった。天理図書館所蔵の草稿と、東洋文庫所蔵の初稿本・再稿本の調査を実施した。東洋文庫の調査では、初稿本・再稿本・出版本を比較し、執筆項目の追加・削除箇所の確認、大きな加筆・修正箇所の確認をおこない、天理図書館蔵の草稿と同じ項目の加筆・修正箇所の比較をおこなった。
