当初の１年目の計画のとおり、「桃源瑞仙の講抄による抄物（百衲襖・史記抄・蕉雨余滴（四河入海所収））から独自部分を抽出する」作業を進めた。さらにその作業を２年目以降の研究、すなわち桃源と『山谷抄』との関連の究明につなげるため、また、『中華若木詩抄』との関連を調べるため、主に以下の３点の調査・研究をおこなった。１，抄物全般及び特に桃源瑞仙や『中華若木詩抄』について読解を深める中で、抄物全般に多く見られる〈類義語を重複させる〉という注釈技法に着目するに至り、その用例収集を始めた。この点については、「抄物による語釈的注釈の採集」と題する口頭発表を２０２３年４月に行う予定である。桃源の抄物では『史記抄』・『百衲襖』を主な調査対象とし、桃源以外の抄物では『中華若木詩抄』や京都大学附属図書館清家文庫蔵『長恨歌抄』等から挙例する。２，仁和寺・島本町歴史文化資料館等において抄物資料の原本調査をおこなった。仁和寺においてはいずれも講者不詳の『山谷詩抄』（文明１２年１４８０奥書）・『論語鈔』（文明７年１４７５奥書）等を中心に内容の読解を進めた。島本町歴史文化資料館においては水無瀬家文書調査の一員として水無瀬兼成筆『長恨歌抄』等を調査することができた。これらも、１，の末尾に記した研究発表の調査対象資料とした。３，本務校での授業（講読国語学Ａ・Ｂ）の教材に指定した、佐竹昭広『古語雑談』について、授業内外で読解を進めた。上記１，の研究テーマを発想・整理する上で有益であった。
