项目摘要

本年度は研究課題のうち、「西光寺一筆一行結縁経」の基礎的研究（原本調査・署名者の確定・作成経緯の推定）と法然没後の専修念仏教団における集団形成原理の研究（法然門弟の付法状・典籍の調査）を進めた。まず、後者に関しては、専修念仏教団のなかでも後に発展していくことになる鎮西義の第三祖とされる良忠の「付法状」について、現存する二種類を比較・検討した。一般に専修念仏教団においては、南北朝期から室町期の聖冏や聖聡に至って、ようやく体系的な付法が完成し、勢力を拡大させていくと考えられてきたが、既に良忠が「付法状」を広く門弟に分け与えていたこと、それにより顕密仏教とは異なる僧侶集団が形成されていたことを明らかにした。またその背景として、それまでに鎮西義で行われていた「書伝」による相承の不備を補おうとした意図があったのではないかということを推定し、論文を執筆した。次に前者に関しては、署名者の確定作業を進めてきた。結縁者は600名以上存在しているが、東京大学史料編纂所の「大日本史料データベース」や関係する僧歴辞典などを使用して、その半数近くまでは考証することができている。一方で、その作成経緯の推定については、研究に必要な箇所の写真は取り寄せ、検討を進めている。特に、「西光寺一筆一行結縁経」とともに地蔵菩薩像胎内に納入されていた「真言陀羅尼集」を検討することにより、その作成経緯をある程度推定することが出来ることが分かった。またこの「真言陀羅尼集」には紙背文書があり、その内容を読解することで、該当者の情報を補足することができる。現在、この紙背文書についても解読を進めている。
