本研究プロジェクトの推進にあたって、当初の計画に従い、まず投資から収益発生までの遅延の原因が企業内部にある場合に着目して分析を行った。特に、初期の設備投資のみならず、その後の拡張投資も可能な場合を想定し、生産遅延の可能性が複数回にわたる設備投資に与える影響を詳しく分析した。モデルの特徴としては、初期投資から見習ったことにより、後続投資では生産遅延が短縮されると期待されるいわゆる学習効果を取り入れたことが挙げられる。その分析内容をまとめて執筆した単著論文「Time-to-build and capacity expansion」は、1回のrevisionを経て、査読付き国際ジャーナルAnnals of Operations Researchの編集委員会の最終判断待ちのところである。一方、海外の研究者らからコンタクトがあり、企業の生産要素として資本のみならず労働も取り入れた場合のモデルも構築し、分析を行った。その研究成果を京都大学数理解析研究所研究集会「ファイナンスの数理解析とその応用」と日本オペレーションズ・リサーチ学会2023年度春季研究発表会にて発表した。現時点では分析の土台としてもっともシンプルな場合を考えているが、今後生産遅延の不確実性まで取り入れたモデルへの拡張もできると考えられる。
