本研究の目的は、学生の募集と教育に成功を収めている中国の大学の日本校が提供する教育的価値を明らかにすることである。教育的価値を補足するため、本研究はカレッジ・インパクト、学修成果、カリキュラム等に関する高等教育研究の蓄積を参考に、「1. 理念→2. 教育へのインプッツ→3. 教育環境→4. 学修成果」の4側面を分析枠組みとして、各側面を構成する要素に着目した分析を行う。本年度は大きく2つの成果を達成した。第一は、本研究の外延にあたる部分の最新情報を収集し分析したことであり、第二は本研究に研究対象に直接的に関わる基礎的調査をほぼ完了したことである。以下、それぞれ具体的に述べる。第一の点については、本研究の中心命題である教育的価値の中核要素のひとつである学修成果に関し、世界をリードする研究と実践を展開するアメリカ合衆国の最新情報を収集し、整理したことである。学修成果の測定、測定データの集積と管理、そして利用について、全米規模の状況を把握することができた。このことは、本研究の分析視点の一般性を高めることに寄与し、その結果として、中国大学日本校をケースとする本研究から得られる知見が、日本をはじめとした他国についても汎用的意義をもたらすことの基盤を形成したと考える。なお、この第一の点に関する成果の一部は「アメリカの高等教育データ」（IDE, 2022年6月号）となった。第二の点については、本研究が対象とする中国大学日本校、北京言語大学と上海大学の東京校の2校について、関連資料やデータの収集と整理をほぼ完了することできた。また、それらに基づき、アンケート予備調査の質問項目を確定することができた。
