初年度である令和４年度の研究は、近代の建築教育資料の研究資源化に向け、失われつつある近代の建築教育資料である横浜高等工業学校で行われた「建築図画」写真資料の正確な枚数と保存状態を把握し、デジタル化の対象とした全ガラス乾板資料のサイズ別の数量および保存状態の把握から開始した。この調査結果からキャビネ版、八つ切版、四つ切版の3種のガラス乾板の存在を明らかにし、サイズ別にデジタル化を進行した。デジタル化の作業にあたっては、読み取り解像度の設定を綿密に検討し、最終的なスキャン設定を統一した。キャビネ版のスキャンから開始し、作業工程の明確化と保存形式を一定にすることで、データベースの基盤的な情報の統一を図った。データベース作成にあたっては、デジタル化された写真資料を基に研究資料体を構築するため、描かれた対象や構図、描いた学生の氏名と年代など明確に設定した整理基準に基づき整理し、表データを作成し、画像から読み取れる内容項目をインプットする作業を行った。「建築図画」の写真資料のデジタル化データを活用し、フランス・パリのエコール・デ・ボザールで行われた建築構成要素を分析する特徴的な課題との関係の解明を目指すとともに、データ化することで、時代ごと、地域ごとなどの分割が可能となり、描かれた対象の作画年代別の傾向などの把握も可能とした。過去の要素分析手法の学びから将来の建築基礎教育への応用可能性の提言に向けた基礎資料の構築を図った。
