本研究の目的は、外科教育の中で特に手術手技教育に着目している。現在中心となっているon the job trainingの問題点の改善のために、手術室外での安全で効率的な手術教育手法の開発を目指している。本研究期間では、申請前に実施始祖の概要を公表した膵頭十二指腸切除術における膵空腸吻合術の系統的教育プログラムによる、学習者の事前準備評価の妥当性に関しての検討を実施した。今回の検討では、外科医を経験年数、症例数などに応じて分けて系統的教育プログラムを実施している。最後に人工モデルを用いたハンズオントレーニングを実践しその結果を解析している。解析はハンズオントレーニングの結果に対する評価者の評価と被験者に対してのアンケート調査の主観的評価をあわせて行っている。この結果から、膵空腸吻合術に対する我々の系統的教育プログラムの有効性や学習者に対しての効果を検討する。現在までの結果では経験豊富な医師はモデルによるトレーニングの評価が高いことがしめされている。また同時に我々の系統的教育プログラムによって被験者＝学習者の手技の実践に対しての自覚的な事前準備（レディネス）が高まることが示されている。事前準備については、これまで評価が難しかった。しかし安全なシミュレーショントレーニングを通じて事前準備を高めることができるならば、医療安全に貢献することが期待される。現在はその結果についてとりまとめている段階である。また、コロナ禍の影響で被験者のリクルートに難渋した。そのため2023年度以降に計画していたテーマに対して前倒しで着手した。胆管空腸吻合術に対する系統的教育プログラムの作成に取り組んだ。また、同時に外科手技に対する人工モデルを用いたシミュレーション教育に関する文献研究にも着手している。
