本研究の目的は、広く使用されている中心静脈（CV）ポートの生命に関わる断裂事故を防止することである。そのために、診療データから得られた断裂のリスク要因と、FMEAで得られた重要度の高い断裂のリスク要因の両者を比較分析して、①断裂の前兆および要因を明らかにすること、②標準化されたより安全な留置法・管理法を構築すること、③断裂事故発生時速やかに発見・対応できるよう対応法標準化の対策立案をすること、④より安全なCVポート管理を行うための施設間連携体制の整備に向けた提言をまとめることを計画している。CVポートの留置・管理を実施している沖縄県内の３ヶ所の急性期病院の医療安全管理者へ、以下の説明を行い研究への参加をリクルートした。実際の方法として、２０１７年４月から２０２０年３月までのCVポート留置患者診療データを後ろ向きに収集し、合併症を生じず使用を終え抜去した症例と断裂を生じた症例とで、使用製品や挿入部位・CVポート本体留置部位・留置期間・使用頻度等の差異を分析し、各項目と断裂との関連性を評価する目的であることを説明した。県内でCVポートを集中的に留置している医療機関で、県外から招へいされている医師の留置手技を見学した。すでに作成していた工程表を実際に一緒に検証し、FMEA手法を用いた要因分析の結果の妥当性を得た。２０２２年度中には調査開始へ至らなかったが、継続して参加登録を進めている段階であり、２０２３年度から調査及び解析を行う予定である。
