本研究の目的は、研究代表者が開発した「がん臨床試験を受ける患者の意思決定を支えるための看護指針」を基盤に、看護師によるがん臨床試験参加に関する意思決定支援実践力の獲得と向上を目指す教育プログラムを開発することである。研究代表者がこれまでに開発した看護指針は、治療選択のみならず、治療継続や療養上の問題に関する意思決定支援も包括している。そのため、この看護指針を基盤に、臨床現場の意思決定支援における課題や意思決定支援実践力の関連要因を考慮した教育プログラムが開発されることは、試行錯誤しながら意思決定支援を実践している看護師の意思決定支援実力の獲得とさらなる向上に寄与すると考えられる。その教育プログラム開発のための第一段階は、がん臨床試験における意思決定支援の実践とそれらの関連要因を調査するための「看護師によるがん臨床試験に参加する患者への意思決定支援実践尺度」を開発することである。「がん臨床試験を受ける患者の意思決定を支えるための看護指針（若手研究B：研究課題：26861899）」を基盤に、尺度原案作成のため、看護実践の項目内容を検討した。がん臨床試験看護のエキスパートによる内容妥当性の検討も実施した。また、尺度原案策についてがん看護経験者による表面妥当性の検討を実施した。それらにより、最終的に63項目の尺度原案を抽出した。上記で決定した尺度原案を用いた質問紙調査のため、研究倫理審査を受け、すでに承認を得ている。今後は、全国のがん臨床試験を実施しているがん診療連携拠点病院および臨床研究中核病院に勤務する看護師（約2000名）を対象に質問紙調査を実施するために、研究依頼の準備を進めている段階である。
