近年、日本女性の健康問題としてロコモティブシンドローム（以下、ロコモ）が挙げられるが、その原因として筋肉量が減少し、筋力や身体機能が低下した状態のサルコペニアである“隠れロコモ”の発生は、高齢者だけでなく幅広い年齢で懸念される。しかし、現在、我が国のロコモ対策は高齢者が中心であり、ロコモの測定や判定方法は高齢者のスクリーニングを目的としたものであり、若年女性の“隠れロコモ”を発見するには適していない。また、若年女性の“隠れロコモ”を発見する機会は皆無であり、ロコモについての知識・理解不足に加え、症状がないため危機感もなく、自身の課題として捉えていない可能性が高い。若年女性が“隠れロコモ”に気づき、高齢期を迎える前からロコモ予防に取り組むことが必要であり、そのためには特別な測定用具や場所・時間・費用を使わず、セルフチェックできるツールの開発が急務である。本研究の目的は、若年女性が“隠れロコモ”に気づき、予防行動につなげるためのセルフチェックツールの開発である。そのため、研究期間を3年間と設定し、①隠れロコモと関連する項目を探索し、セルフチェックツールを作成する②作成したセルフチェックツールの妥当性を検証し、修正・改善を行う③若年女性隠れロコモ発見のためのセルフチェックツールの普及・啓発を行うの3つの研究目標を設定している。2022年度は研究目標①を達成するため、20歳以上40歳未満の若年女性約200名を対象にロコモチェック、体力測定等隠れロコモに関する項目の測定や質問紙調査を実施し、関連項目を検討する計画であった。
