本研究の目的はPGAシート貼付とステロイド剤の塗布による胃ESD後狭窄予防効果を検証することである。胃前庭部の半周以上の大きな潰瘍を作成し、PGAシート貼付群5頭と非貼付群5頭でESD後潰瘍の治癒経過について検討を行うこととしていた。ESD施行後2週間で犠死させ、胃標本を摘出し、病理学的観点から比較検討を行う。特に粘膜治癒率と線維化の程度について詳細な評価を行い、本法がESD後潰瘍の治癒率及び狭窄予防に対しての有用性を検討する計画である。2022年度、6頭のビーグル犬に対して胃ESDを施行し、40-50mmの創面を作成した。うち3頭は潰瘍底にPGAシートを貼りつけケナコルトの塗布を行い手技終了とした。4週間後の潰瘍瘢痕部は両群ともに明らかな狭窄はきたしておらず想定していた結果とはならなかった。計画どおりの管腔半周以上の創面としなかった理由は、イヌの前庭部の粘膜はヒトと異なりかなり硬く、大きな創面の作成が困難であったためである。ESD創面のサイズをもっと大きくする必要性があると考えられた。
