项目摘要

本研究は古典期アテナイにおける私的領域と公的世界との関係を、主として友愛結社(ヘタイレイア)の社会的・政治的ネットワークの面から検討するものであった。ヘタイレイアは従来、政治史の文脈において、もっぱら政党の代替物とみなされてきた。しかし、ヘタイレイアは、若者たちの小共同体として、時に政治にかかわりながらも、社交的側面を有していたのである。彼らの集会であるシュンポシオンについての図像表現が、それを物語っている。本研究においては、まず、アンドキデスをとりまくヘタイレイア群のプロソボグラフィックな分析によりヘタイレイアのメンバー構成を確認するとともに、ヘタイレイアの政治活動が、実際社会的(社交的)活動と不分離におこなわれていたこと-ヘタイレイアにおいて公私が競合していたこと-を確認した。今後は、家族や地縁共同体といった、ポリス内部のその他の小共同体についての見解も参考にしながら、ヘタイレイアをポリス共同体のなかに位置づけたい。テオグニス等の詩文史料と図像資料から、まずはヘタイレイアをギリシア人の世界観のなかに位置づけ、次に実際の活動について、アテナイ政治史のなかでの意義について再検討していきたい。
