项目摘要

近年、グローバル化する社会の中で、様々な文化の人々と主体的・対話的に探究していくための資質・能力を身に付けることが必要とされている。このような中で、教育現場では、生徒の国際性や科学的思考力・表現力の育成を目的としたカリキュラムを構築していくことが急務である。報告者の所属校(SSH認定校)では、このような目的のカリキュラムの1つとして、生徒が、理科に関する演示実験を、英語を用いて6分間でプレゼンテーションする英語と理科の合教科型授業(以下、6分間ジッケング)を開発・実践している。本研究では、「6分間ジッケング」が、高校生の国際性や科学的思考力の育成に及ぼす効果を検討することを目的とした。高校2年生35名(介入群)に対して、2回の「6分間ジッケング」が実施された。2回目の授業内容は、1回目の「6分間ジッケング」の成果を踏まえ再構成された。「6分間ジッケング」の効果については、英語と理科の学習に関する自己評価と自由記述に基づく数量的・解釈的な分析により検討された。介入群は、演示実験の内容や方法についての対話的な議論や英語によるプレゼンテーションを通して、自身の認知プロセスの振り返りや課題解決の見通しといったメタ認知活動が促進されていた。また、課題解決に対する自己効力感が高まり、演示実験の内容や方法の意味を理解しながら行動するといった意味理解的な方略が積極的に使用されていた。さらには、演示実験の目的・内容・方法・考察・結論を全て英語で表現し、そして英語を用いて質疑応答を行うことで、実用的な英語力が身に付いたと自己評価した。
