小学校の実践的体育研究においても, 運動時の視線について重要であると報告している研究が多い。例えば「跳び箱運動において, 踏切時は視線をマットの先端方向に向ける。」「高跳びにおいて助走・踏切時にバーの上に視線を向ける。」等, 視線に関する実践が報告されている。しかし, 実践結果の根拠が跳べるようになった児童の数や教師の主観によるものがほとんどであり, 「注視部分を限定したためであるか否か。」という科学的な根拠がない場合が多い。そのため, 実際にどの程度有効であるかは明らかになっていない。そこで, 小学校5学年児童を対象に, 跳び箱と高跳びにおいて視線の動きを追尾することで, 運動と視線の関連性について明らかにすることを研究目的とした。実験には, 「ナックEMR-ACTUS」を使用した。児童に, 試技者の目線で撮影した高跳びをしている映像と跳び箱を跳んでいる映像(合わせて20秒程度)を見せ, 助走から着地までの視線の動きを追尾する。その結果と体育で測定した跳び箱の成功率, 及び, 高跳びの記録を比較し関連性を調査した。高跳び, 跳び箱のいずれにおいても, 運動と視線の関連性がありそうであるという結果となった。しかしながら, 今回の実験では, 映像を見るというバーチャル的な体験のため, その結果については断定できないところである。そこで, 来年度の研究では, 実際に運動している時の視線の動きを追尾し, 更に運動と視線の関連性を明らかにしていく。
