アベサンショウウオ(Hynobius abei)は,日本産両棲類中,最も絶滅の危機に瀕しており,「種の保存法」で保護すべき生物に指定されている。既知の生息域は,京都府,兵庫県,石川県,福井県嶺北及び嶺南東部の日本海沿岸に限られていたが,北陸と京都府を結ぶ地域での調査はなかった。そこで,分布の空白地帯である福井県若狭地域から京都府丹後地方の間で調査を行い,本種の生息域を生物地理学的に確定して,保護増殖に有効な施策を提言することを目的とした。調査は,福井県嶺南,滋賀県及び京都府の約90kmの区域で,標高250m以下の里地里山の山麓周辺湿地で行った。既知の本種の生活史から,幼生出現期の春季と成体出現・産卵期の冬季に調査を行った。本年度新たに108地点で行った追加調査では,産卵可能な止水環境が標高5〜160mの23地点で確認されたが,本種の幼生・卵嚢は新たに確認されなかった。他方,レッドデータブックに掲載されている稀少な野生動植物13種が若狭町,小浜市,高浜町及び京都府舞鶴市で確認され,これらの地域が,動植物の生息に良好な環境を残していることを改めて認識した。特に,舞鶴市の谷津田で圃場整備を免れた地域が確認されたことは,注目に値する。生物地理学的観点から,過去嶺南若狭地方から丹後地方にもアベサンショウウオの生息地が数多く存在していたと考えられる。しかし,現在の分布状況は,本種が生息地の連続性を失い,隔離された環境に追いやられていることを示している。嶺南若狭地方にも確実に分布すると考えられるが,生息地域は福井県嶺北や嶺南東部と異なり,石川県南加賀地方のような非常に限られた狭い地域に違いない。今後も,稀少な野生動植物が多く棲む2市2町と,里山でサンショウウオの情報が得られた小浜市で,数多くの地点を虱潰しにする生息地確認の継続調査が必要である。

Hynobius abei (Hynobius abei) is the most endangered species in Japan and is designated as the "species preservation method" for the protection of species. It is known that the living area is limited to Kyoto Prefecture, Hyogo Prefecture, Ishikawa Prefecture, Fukui Prefecture, and the eastern part of the South Sea coast. In the investigation of the spatial distribution of this species, the biogeographical determination of the habitat of this species is carried out, and the policy of conservation is proposed. The survey was carried out in an area of about 90km in Fukui Prefecture, Lingnan, Shiga Prefecture and Kyoto Prefecture, and in the surrounding wetlands at the foothills of Siri Mountain below 250m in elevation. Since the life history of this species is known, the investigation of juvenile appearance, spring appearance, adult appearance, spawning period and winter is carried out. Additional investigations were conducted at 108 new sites this year, and 23 new sites were confirmed to have spawning potential at 5 - 160m elevation. In addition, 13 rare species of wild animals and plants were recorded in Wakasa, Kobama, Takabama and Maizuru cities of Kyoto Prefecture. In particular, Maizuru City's Tanitsuda Park is free from regional confirmation. Biogeography points out that in the past, if the narrow place in Lingnan changed from Danhou place, the number of places where it lived would increase. The present distribution of this species is different from that of other species. The species has lost its connectivity in the habitat and has been isolated from the environment. The distribution of the area in the south of the mountain is very limited, and the living area is Fukui, North of the mountain, and East of the mountain. In the future, rare wild animals and plants will live in 2 cities, 2 towns, and 3 mountains. Information on them will be obtained from small cities, and investigation will be necessary to confirm the existence of many places.
