[研究目的]小、中、高生の理科離れの対策として、これまで岩手大学技術部及びINS「岩手・ネットワーク・システム」等との共同で子供科学教室、ショッピングセンターでの科学展並びに大学祭での技術展に参加してきた。本研究では、次の段階として「理科」と「もの作り」は楽しいもの作るよろこびをより多くの人に体験して貰うために創意工夫した出前教室に取り組み、理科離れ対策に貢献した。[研究方法・実施結果]平成19年度は次の会場で以下の通り実施した。1.7月北上市で開催された、北上工業匠祭に「台所は電池でいっぱいのテーマで」飲料水・野菜・果物・調味料など身近にあるものを用いて出店した。子供からお年寄りまで多くの参加者から好評を得た。2.8月岩手県矢巾町煙山地区の小学生を対象に夏休み自由研究の参考として「どんなものが電池になるか試してみよう」家庭で身近にあるものを持ってきてもらい、電圧の測定を行った。同時に、電気回路は電子ブロックを用いた「うそ発見器」、「ラジオの製作」、指導者が作ったゲルマニウムラジオを農示した。楽しかったので、次回も開催して欲しいと要望があった。3.10月岩手大学祭に「台所は電池でいっぱい」並びに「電子ブロックを用いた回路作り」と「レゴブロック」を用いたおもちゃ作りを実施し子供だけでなく、大人も夢中になって作った。「実施して感じたこと」子供たちは興味を持って参加した、次に繋がる可能性があることを感じた。また、北上工業匠祭ではロボコンの全国大会に参加した小学生にモーターのこと、プログラムのことなどを質問された。どの会場でも親が子供達より興味を示し、色々な質問が出され楽しい一時であった。最後に出前教室は対象者を絞ること創意工夫に時間をかけ余裕を持つことが必要であると痛感し、次回の参考にしたい。
