1. 研究目的事業所内にある多くのPCを一括管理するようなシステムは、ソフトウェアのインストールや環境設定が必要であり、専門知識が無いと利用することが難しい。特に大学の研究室や中小企業の場合、管理者がいないことも多く誰でも容易にPCを管理する手段が求められている。加えてセキュリティ管理に必要な情報を自動的に収集することで管理コストも減らすことが期待できる。そこで、必要な情報を自動的に収集し、しかも、PCに詳しくない人でも使用できるように、極力インストールや設定を必要としない、これまでになかった新しいPC管理システムを開発した。2. 研究成果サーバにはPCにCDを挿入して起動するだけでLinuxが使用できる1-CD-Linuxを使用することで、起動時に自動的にPC管理サーバが起動するようにした。これにより、従来のようにサーバ側に煩雑なインストールや環境設定を必要としないため、サーバ管理に精通した担当者がいなくても利用できる。サーバに収集した情報はWebブラウザを使って参照でき、セキュリティ管理に必要な情報を容易に得ることができる。また、サーバソフトのセキュリティについても考慮し、サーバプログラムは全て暗号化することでプログラムの改竄などは出来ないようにした。管理対象はWindowsがインストールされたPCである。PCに開発したクライアントソフトをインストールすることで、PC起動時にサーバヘ必要な情報を自動的に送信する。このように、本システムはサーバ及びクライアント共に殆ど設定なしで利用できることから、コンピュータの専門知識が少ない人でも利用できる。今回本システムを使用し、本校の3つの情報処理演習室に設置されている140台ほどのPCについて情報を収集した。結果情報を容易に収集することができ、良好な成果を得ることができた。
