研究目的:118世紀地図学者森幸安の地図を体系化するために、内容の実証性について考察する。これにより、近世地図史上の位置づけを先学よりも明確に示すことができる。2学校現場で当該地図を使用することにより、資料を通して歴史の考察・分析・資料批判・説明・表現などの歴史地理教育に資する。研究方法:1(1)幸安の残した地図(地誌)情報と他の史資料との比較検討を行う。(2)刊行されている書誌目録の悉皆調査を行い、未発見地図を発掘する。(3)研究の進展を図るため、地図作製の前提となっている地誌情報を系統的にデータとして保存する。2日本史の教科書や資料集の情報と幸安地図に登場する情報で重なる部分を見つけ、授業の中で使用できるように教材研究をする。研究成果:1(1)洛中地図の情報は、一次史料として位置づけられている情報を多分に反映しており、幸安は極力最新の成果を載せようと努力していたこと、先学の地誌研究者にはない情報を載せることで独自の実証的な見解を示そうとしていたことがわかった。(2)新出地図4点を得た。とくに地図作製初期段階で空間的な視点を得ていたこと、京都大学による調査で著者不明とされていた地図が森幸安のものであること、弟子の澤田員距と幸安との関連性を確認できる地図を発見することができた。(3)幸安地図の元資料となる幸安著『山州撰』十二冊の索引(事項、引用書目)が完成した。2幸安地図の複製を生徒に見せることで、神仏習合時代の寺社の様子、近世都市構造のあり方、地図文化などについて触れることができ、生徒による歴史資料の考察・分析・解釈や説明・表現を身につける一助となり得た。
