1研究目的小学校理科6年土地のつくりと変化で,マルチメディア教材を用いた野外観察法を開発する。(1)地層の野外観察に必要なデジタル教材を作成する。(2)授業実践でマルチメディア教材を用いて野外観察を行い,その効果を分析する。2研究方法(1)鹿児島県大島郡龍郷町の地形図や地質図,観察地域の露頭写真等をマルチメディアに対応できるようにデジタル化し,教育の専門家と改善の意見交換を行い,教材化した。(2)小学校第6学年を対象に,マルチメディア教材を用いて野外観察を行い,その効果を児童の記録(映像記録,ノート,質問紙調査)から分析し,成果と課題をまとめ,教材とともにDVDにまとめ公開した。3研究成果(1)専門書をわかりやすい言葉に変えた教材は効果的であった。まずは,教師の教材研究と児童が地層の野外観察を行う際に,露頭を観察する視点として地層の構成物に関する情報(岩石の種類,生成した時代,広がり)が必要とされる情報であり,そのため,地質図と粒度の違いによる岩石の種類を主たる情報として教材を構成することが,地質に関する地域教材を開発する上で重要である。(2)理科を専門としない小学校の教員が活用することを主眼に研究を進め,このような地域教材は小学校の授業に有効であることがわかった。研究成果について町内の研究会で発表した際に,中学校の授業でも地層の野外観察が進んでいないことが明らかになった。その原因は,小学校と同じく「地層のどこに着目させたらよいかわからない。」「教科書と実際に観察可能な地層が違うので困る。」等の指導への困難性であった。本教材を中学校1年の地層の学習でも活用ができるよう改良を加え,教師の教材研究をサポートしていくことが必要である。

(2)Science and technology teachers in primary and secondary schools The research results are presented at the research meeting in the town, the teaching in the middle school, and the field observation of the stratum. The reason for this is that primary schools are the same as "strata are the same." "Textbooks and real-time observation of possible strata may be difficult." Such guidance is difficult. This textbook is used in the study of the stratum of the middle school for one year. It is necessary to improve the teaching materials.
