本研究では、多くの教員の持っているS-R的な学習観を基本とする指導観がいかに形成されるのか、小学校教員の持っている指導原理についての素朴概念を明らかにしながら、その形成について明らかにしようと考えた。学習の素朴概念と言えるS-R的学習観の形成過程を明らかにすることにより、教員自身に学習観を確認させることができ、教員養成における学習観形成に反映できるものと考えた。調査紙を使った調査により,現場の小学校教員に強く「学習」への素朴概念が存在することが明らかになったが,教員養成系学生にも同様に存在することが分かった。小学校教員では,年齢,経験年数,地域,性別に関係なく広く「学習」への素朴概念が存在し,教員養成系の学生においても同様であった。ここ30年で大学等の教員養成課程で認知心理学が講義され,学習指導においても,S-R的学習観以外の考え方が指導されているはずであるが,依然として現場教員,学生ともに本研究で示す「学習」素朴概念であるS-R的学習観から逃れることができないでいる現状が明らかになった。本研究から,大学,特に教員養成においては,これまで以上に「学習」に関する指導に配慮が必要であり,多様な学習観の形成が必要であることが分かった。また,本研究で示した「学習」への素朴概念は,学習の導入段階,幼稚園,小学校低学年レベルからすでに存在するのではないか,という新たな仮説を持つに至った。
