【研究の目的】小学校低学年期における国語科授業を楽しくて言葉の力が付く能動的な学習にするため、紙芝居活動を取り入れた単元開発をしたり、昔話や教科書教材を紙芝居に再話したりする。【研究の計画・方法】紙芝居活動を基軸にし、紙芝居を上演し合うことを通して、読む・書く・伝え合うことを一元化させた言語活動を展開する。子どもの発達特性に即した、子どもの生活に根差した活動を通して、仲間とともに豊かな言語生活をつくる子どもの姿を目指す。紙芝居を「読むこと」だけでなく、「書くこと」も取り入れて言語活動を充実させ、子どもが主体的に取り組む国語科授業を目指す。そのために、年間を通して紙芝居活動に取り組めるように、年間を通した帯単元に設定し、国語科授業のカリキュラムづくりをし、教材開発をしながら紙芝居活動に取り組む。【研究成果】教科書(光村図書1年生)の最後に取り入れられた「まのいいりょうし」という昔話を紙芝居の再話活動に使用した。絵だけの表示で、別ページにテクストがある。紙芝居に再話するという活動には、どうしても場面を分ける思考が必要になる。一人一人が物語を読みながら、粗筋を把握し、どこで場面を区切ったらよいか考えた。紙芝居においては、特徴的な「抜き」が存在するため、その効果(緊迫感・絵の見せ方など)を考えて場面分けをする活動が生まれる。また、紙芝居には、「抜き」と「演出ノート」という特徴的な上演の工夫が存在する。これは、絵の変化やセリフを効果的に表現するためのものである。本教材には紙芝居に再話することが想定されていないため、「抜き」や「演出ノート」の記述はない。そのため、子どもは、今まで紙芝居を読み重ねてきた経験をいかし、「抜き」や「演出ノート」を自分たちで考え、書き込むようになった。このように、紙芝居を演じる活動や、読み物を紙芝居にする再話活動を通して、多様なごとばの力を高めることができた。
