本研究の目的は, 申請者が技術職員を指導して, 実習に則した教材ビデオを製作するなかで申請者が体得した技能(学生指導における事故や危険予知)を若い技術職員に伝承することである。さらに, 技術伝承された技術職員は, 基本や安全を重視した「ものづくりのおもしろさ」を学生に伝えることである。申請者は, 技術職員の補助および教員の協力を得て, 教材ビデオを製作し, 技能伝承を行った。具体的には, 実習で行っている各種溶接法の基本動作や安全作業を主体に, 溶接で起こりやすい溶接部欠陥の対策およびアーク・ガスの切断作業も含む溶接作業を映像化した。その際, 若い技術職員に製作補助を求めることにより, 申請者の技能伝承を行った。アーク溶接, ガス溶接, 炭酸ガス溶接, ティグ溶接, ガス切断およびエアープラズマ切断の5種類の教材ビデオの映像化に成功した。なお, 当初計画した学生の実習補助は, 職種の変更により必要がなくなり, 技術職員のみで映像化した。収録された映像は, 編集すると1分から5分の教材となった。製作した教材ビデオは1月から2月の溶接実習に使用した。実習開始時に, スクリーンを2分割して投影する映像とし, スクリーン左側にビデオカメラによる動画映像を, 右側にノートパソコンによる静止画像と説明文を同時投影することにより, 実習内容の把握が容易なものとなっている。実習終了時に, 学生に授業内容に関するアンケートを取った。その結果, ほとんどの学生は分かり易い教育ビデオで, 実習時にとても参考になったとの回答であった。アンケートの詳細な解析を行った結果, 教育効果が達成された。また, 技術職員からの反応も良く, 技能の伝承が行われたと判断する。今後の課題として, (1)撮影や編集機器の操作技術向上を目指すこと, (2)若い技術職員が不慣れな研削作業や歯切り作業の実習教材を製作することが挙げられる。
