唇側辺縁部に金属を用いずに陶材で辺縁を作る,いわゆるカラーレス法による陶材焼付前装冠(特にマージン専用陶材を用いたもの)の強度について調べることを目的として,以下の検討を行った.1.マージン専用陶材自体の機械的強度,特に曲げ強さについては,ボディ用陶材と比較して強度が小さいことがわかっているが,板状試料による表面粗さの測定を行ったところ,4種類の陶材においていずれも,マージン用陶材はボディ陶材よりも大きな表面粗さを示すことがわかり,これが強度の違いに大きく関与していると考えられる.2.マージン用陶材における,イオン交換法による陶材強化材の硬化について板状試料によって検討したところ,数種の陶材で20〜40%の強度の増加がみられ,強化材の処理を行わないボディ陶材よりも大きな曲げ強さを示した.3.金属支台を用いて,臨床的な形態としたカラーレス陶材焼付前装冠の試料を3種類の陶材を用いて製作し,内面の適合状態を測定したところ,唇側ポーセレンカラー部は,マージン用陶材1回築盛時に100〜200μm程度であったが,2回築盛時に40〜60μm程度となり,舌側メタルカラー部と同程度となることがわかった.ただし,今回は2mm程度としたマージン用陶材の築盛量や,築盛法の技術的な問題,焼成を繰り返した際のメタルフレームの変形などの問題については,検討が必要である.今後は,適合試験に用いた試料により破折試験を行い,陶材自体の強度の結果と併せて検討し,適合が強度に与える影響について明らかにしたい.
