昨年構築した、病棟と手術室、検査室、医局を結ぶ当科専用のイントラネットに、今年は外来も接続された。そこで昨年から行っている病棟での入院患者情報のネットワークデータベース活用を、退院後の外来患者の診察にも広げると共に、外来患者専用の医療情報データベースも作成し、効率的な治療や研究に役立てている。また、患者、学生、看護婦、医師、それぞれにwwwで各種情報の提示も昨年から行っていたが、院内イントラネットの仕組みや活用状況、ネットワークでの事故や犯罪を防ぐための方法などの情報も今年から載せている。当科でのイントラネット活用が進む中、ネットワーク使用者にイントラネットの長所や現状を知ってもらい、更なる活用を進めてもらう事と、医療情報をネットワークで扱うことの危険性やそれを回避する方法を知ってもらい、セキュリティーに対する意識を向上する事を目的としており、実際に現在までネットワークに関する大きなトラブルは起きていない。そして遠隔端末操作ソフトを使用し、ネットワーク上の離れた端末の画面をキャプチャーする事で、医局など離れた端末から、検査室の検査の進行状況などを確認することも可能になった。外来患者用の端末では診察進行状況に関する情報提示も行っており、その確認も可能であった。手術室と医局に双方向映像音声通信装置を設置し、手術室からは手術の顕微鏡映像や内視鏡映像、手術支援機器のモニター映像、各種電気刺激結果や術者の声を送信し、医局でそれらを見たスタッフが映像や音声で手術に関する指導を行うシステムも構築した。イントラネットでは安全で十分な速度の回線利用が可能で、遠隔手術指導に十分な画質での双方向映像通信が可能であった。昨年からの研究で、実際の医療現場での、非常に先進的で有効なイントラネットの活用が行えた。今後も、新しい技術や医療機器のネットワークでの積極的な活用を進めていきたい。
