本年度は、昨年度に行った伝世資料と既発表出土資料との連関についての調査、および伝世資料内部の構造についての研究を踏まえ、編著者を明らかとしない「格言集」の展開と衰頽について研究を行った。本年度に得られた成果は下記の通りである。1 戦国中期より漢初にかけて、本研究が「格言集」と仮称する種類の文献が多数が作成された。これらの文献や「格言」は、議論に際しての論拠として、重要な機能を担っていた。このような種類の文献・文言にこのような機能が認められるのは、前漢中期以降には見られない、この時期に特徴的な現象である。2 「格言集」は、本研究が対象とする時期の後半において急速に収斂した。具体的には、景帝期より武帝期にかけ「格言」単体での権威は失われ、これに伴い、一部の「格言集」は先人の著作として仮託されることにより後世に伝えられ、残余の多数の「格言集」は亡佚した。この過程で、たとえば『老子』のテキストが固定される結果が生じた。また『商君書』などの文献中に「格言集」部分と、それを敷衍して説明する部分が混在しているのも、このような現象の結果である。なお、平成十年上海博物館新収戦国楚簡は、本研究の主要な対象である郭店楚簡と密接な関係を有するものと予想され、一昨年度内にはその全貌が刊行・公開される予定であった。しかし、昨年度「研究実施計画」にて述べたとおり、当該資料の公開が遅延したことにより、本年度には当該資料について研究を行うことができなかった。平成十四年初頭に当該資料の一部が公開されたため、当該資料とくに『孔子詩論』を視野に入れた上で、本年度に得られた知見を再検討し、その成果を順次公開していく。
