〔1〕個人能力に関する遂行情報学習と逐次的努力水準決定、およびその結果決定される個人間労働収入格差の発生に関して、日本と米国のミクロデータを用いて実証分析を行った。日本については国民生活基礎調査を基にした対数所得分散の岩本推計、米国についてはPanel Study of Income Dynamics(PSID)を用いて推計を行った。その結果、日本は米国に比べて相対的に賃金に含まれるノイズ(不確実性)が大きく、個人間の能力(生産性)分散が小さいことが明らかとなった。この違いによって、日本では努力格差が遅くに発生し労働収入の格差を40代半ば以降に拡大させ、米国ではその逆に30代半ば以前に格差が発生拡大する観察事実を説明できる(2000年Economertric Society, World Congress報告)。〔2〕経済主体が情報学習を行うのに必要な主観的モデルの危険回避度が事後的な情報学習の速度や効率性に与える影響に関する理論・実証分析に関しては、その理論的考察を進めその実証的特定化を検討した。危険中立性を仮定したベイジアン情報学習モデルに関しては、インドAdditonal Rural Incomes Survey(ARIS)を用いた家計教育投資行動の実証で試み、データの使い方を新しくし、頑健性を検証した。経済主体が危険回避的な特定化をする場合の情報学習プロセスを実証分析しているが、その最終確認段階(平成14年3月)である。〔3〕タイ・バンコクの労働力調査(1994-1996)をもとに移住労働者の適応化過程を、情報学習の観点からモデル化し実証分析を行った。その結果、教育水準(人的資本)とバンコクでの経験年数とが賃金決定に補完的役割を果たしていることが明らかとなった。すなわち、初期人的資本が多い移住者は情報学習の速度がより速い。このことはより複雑な職種での情報学習と整合的であり、移住初期の労働者・職種のマッチング過程で人的資本と職種の複雑さとが正の相関を持っことを意味する(FASID DP)。
