報告者は、平成13年度を通じて、当該年度から新たに着手した専門小売業態の事業展開と消費のあり方に関する資料収集やそれに基づく実証的・理論的分析を行った。また、学外の研究会に積極的に参加して、これまで継続して研究してきた百貨店・スーパー・コンビニエンスストアと生産に携わる経済主体との間で構築された取引制度に関する分析の結果を報告した。具体的には、年度を通じて、(1)国会図書館や各大学付属図書館、電子ジャーナル等を利用した資料調査を実施し、専門小売業態を消費のあり方との関連性や当該小売業態と生産者との間で構築された取引制度について分析を行い、(2)経済産業省「フランチャイズ契約と企業組織に関する研究会」(月一回)、NTTデータ「ネットワーキング・デザイン・フォーラム(NDF)」(隔月一回)、経営史学会部会などで成果報告や意見交換を実施した。また、諸外国との取引制度の相違を明らかにする目的で、平成14年1月に、イギリス・ロンドンで開催された国際シンポジウムに参加・報告し、iモードを中心とする携帯電話事業の展開と各国の消費動向及び生産者との取引関係に関する議論を行った。(「次世代WAPサービスとiモード」国際シンポジウム)。なお、上記(2)で触れたNDFでは、インターネットオークション市場において取引の安定と取引市場の拡大に寄与すると考えられる様々な取引制度の生成と展開のメカニズムについて研究成果報告を行った。今年度は既存の刊行物を単著として出版する作業と並行して、オークション事業に内包される取引制度やその制度をベースに新たに出現しつつある商業者の事業活動に関する考察を深めたいと考えている。
