项目摘要

本研究の研究科題名は「多国籍企業における技術の逆移転の研究」です。これまで軽視されてきた海外子会社による技術開発と技術移転に焦点をあて,多国籍企業のあるべき姿を模索することが研究の目的です。平成13年度はこれまで研究してきた欧米系多国籍企業のヒューレット・パッカード株式会社(以下,HP)におけるTQC(Total Quality Control)の逆移転に関する事例を「知識結合」と「知識移転」という新たな観点から全面的に分析し直すことに致しました。平成12年度に野中郁次郎・竹内弘高(梅本勝博訳)『知識創造企業』東洋経済新報社,1996年の知識創造パラダイムに基づいて同じ事例を分析し,いくつかの学会において報告致しましたが,知識創造パラダイムを使うことの是非や組織学習理論と違いなどをめぐって多くの厳しい批判を仰ぐことになりました。そこで,本年度はまず知識を鍵概念とする経営学の実証研究を幅広く調査・検討して,筆者独自の分析枠組みを作り直すことにしました。その結果,多国籍企業の構成企業によって共有される「共通知識」と構成企業に固有の「現地知識」の「結合」と「移転」によって多国籍企業の進化を説明する分析枠組みを構築することができました。多国籍企業の構成企業は共通知識と現地知識を結びつけて新たな共通知識を生み出し,それを他の構成企業に移転することによってさらに新しい知識結合を行っていきます。HPにおけるTQCの逆移転の事例も,基本的にこのような分析枠組みで説明できることを明らかにし,知識の保有側が移転を働きかけやすいメカニズムを多国籍企業が整備する必要のあること,および将来的には企業ではなく個人を分析単位としたいっそう精緻な分析枠組みを構築しなければならないこと提示して結論としています。
