Today we can testify that in most European countries a new history of ideas evolves. Whereas Anglo-Saxon research mainly focuses on the "New History of Ideas", formulated by Pocock and Skinner, German, Austrian and Italian research predominantly ties in with a dual tradition: on the one hand it follows Kosellecks approach to a "History of Concepts" and on the other hand following Luhmanns system-theoretical approach.
