英文摘要
The aim of this project is to explore the potential of self-assembled dipole layers (molecular and inorganic) as a mechanism for separating charge carriers at semiconductor surfaces. Although dipole layers have been shown to enhance the efficiency of photovoltaic devices, there have been no systematic studies of this. The project plans to use both dipole layers and ferroelectric layers as a means to improve the efficiency of electron injection. Understanding this mechanism would help in the design of more efficient solar cells and other light-harvesting molecular systems.
