本研究プロジェクトの目的は以下の3点であった。(1)乳幼児健康診断時に活用できるような自閉症スペクトラム児の早期発見手続きを開発する[14-16年度]。(2)過去の乳幼児健康診断記録を分析しなおし、対象児の現在の学校適応度について多面的に測定調査をおこなう[14-16年度]。(3)小中学校の中間学級などに通う学校不適応児について、乳幼児期まで遡って調査を行い、乳幼児期の行動特徴との関連性を調べる[15-16年度]。(1)乳幼児健康診断時に活用できるような自閉症スペクトラム児の早期発見手続きの開発乳幼児健診での発達相談担当者の多くは、数回の健診での観察により自閉症スペクトラムの兆候を検知できると考えていることがこの研究の出発点となった。そこで、こうしたベテラン発達相談員の「直感」をビデオ記録と照らし合わせ、詳細な聞き取り調査と多面的な行動チェックリストとの対応づけを通して、関連する行動特性を統計的にあぶり出すという方法・聞き取り調査のための項目とチェックリストの作成等を試みた。(2)過去の乳幼児健康診断記録から抽出した「対象児」の現在の学校適応度についての多面的な測定調査乳幼児健康診断記録は過去10年以上が残されているため、それらの中から「多動傾向」「呼びかけに反応しない」などの行動特徴を示した者を各年度ごとに100名程度抽出し、現在の学校適応度との関係を調べることを計画していた。しかし、個人のプライバシーに関わる調査であるため、教育委員会との連携をもちつつ、必要に応じ保護者からの承諾を得るなどの配慮を行う必要があり、計画年度内には具体的な調査の実施には至らなかった。(3)小中学校の中間学級などに通う学校不適応児について、乳幼児期の行動特徴との関連性の調査健常児とADHD児についての過去のデータを分類するための新しい手続きを開発し、関連する研究誌に発表した。
