本年度の研究成果は,次の2点にまとめられる.1.ウェブ掲示板における個人間の相互作用の解明と集団の特徴ウェブ掲示板では,各個人が自由にメッセージの書き込みを行っていると思われている.しかし,そのメッセージは潜在的に先行する他のメッセージの影響を受けているかもしれない.本研究の目的は,このような相互作用はどんな要素に対してどのような原理で働くかを明らかにし,その結果として集団全体としてはどのような特徴が表れるのかを明らかにすることである.成果として,次の事項が明らかになった.(1)集団の特徴は,一人当たりの投稿メッセージ数とその頻度の分布に表れることを,実際の掲示板のデータを解析することにより明らかにした.その分布は,対数正規分布と呼ばれる統計的分布に従い,特徴として正規分布に比べ平均値から極端に大きく外れた値が存在することである.掲示板の例だと,大部分の人は少数のメッセージしか投稿しない一方で,少数の人は極端に多数のメッセージを投稿することである.(2)相互作用の要素はメッセージの返信であり,それが上述の対数正規分布を発生させることを,計算機シミュレーションにより構成的に,またある条件の下での数学的導出により解析的に示した.(3)投稿数の分布が既知になることにより,従来の手法では困難であった,投稿数が0件の純粋な読者数の推定が可能になった.本手法により推定される読者数と実際のウェブ掲示板のアクセス数を比較することにより,本推定手法の妥当性を示した.2.複合表情と印象の解析複数の感情を含んだ複合表情の生成は,擬人化されたエージェントのような自然なヒューマンインターフェースを開発する際に,必要となる技術である.本研究では,どの複合感情の組み合わせが人間にとって読み取り易いかを,自然画像による表情とそれを加工した画像による,アンケート調査実験により明らかにした.

The results of this year's research are as follows: 1. The characteristics of interaction between individuals and groups are explained in the second part of the paper.
