项目摘要

仏教と神道との融合現象、つまり神仏習合が極めて発展的な展開をみせた中世には、一連の神道書が述作され、それに基づく神道理論の成立をみるに至った。即ち、伊勢神道・両部神道・吉田神道などの神道理論が、それである。中世神道の重要性は明らかであるが、その研究は、必ずしも充分に行われているとはいい難い。それは、中世神道が神道研究の中心課題から、排除されていることに由来する。このような現状において、本研究が先ずなさねばならぬことは、中世神道関係の文献・史料の発掘・収集とその書誌学的研究であった。現在でも、全国の文庫・図書館及び寺社の経蔵には、未だ多数の中世神道関係の文献史料が残されている。そこでその中から幾つかの重要と思われる収蔵箇所を調査し、中世の神道関係の文献史料を収集することを、本年度の目的とした。その結果、中世の神道論書特に真言系の両部神道関係文献を収集することができた。本年度中において、文献・史料を調査・収集した文庫・図書館は、叡山文庫を始めとして、7ヶ処に及んだ。収集した文献や既に刊行されている史料集を克明に調査した結果、三輪流神道の性格が解明された。つまり真言系の両部神道説の影響を受けて成立した伊勢神道が、逆に真言系の三輪流神道に影響を及ぼしていることである。伊勢神道と交渉のあった叡尊によって、慶円の創唱とされる三輪流神道に、伊勢神道説を含む真言神道説が持ち込まれたのである。即ち、三輪流神道とは、真言系神道説と伊勢神道系真言神道説との合体したものといえる。なお、両部神道の文献である『神代秘決』5巻を翻刻し、且つ諸本との校合を行ったもの、及びその研究論文とからなる研究成果報告を作成した。
