今年度は、まず、本研究目的の達成に必要な実験装置を組み上げた。この実験装置は、本体が本年度の科学研究費補助金によって購入したMacintosh社のQuadra800システムで、それに高解像度のカラー・ディスプレー(分担者の日比野が平成5年度の科学研究費補助金(奨励研究(A))で購入したradius社製のもの)を接続したものである。刺激の較正は、分担者の日比野が平成3年度の科学研究費補助金(奨励研究(A))で購入したミノルタの色彩色差計CL-100システムを用いて行っている。現在、この実験装置にアメリカのSmith-Kettlewell Eye Research Instituteで開発された視覚実験用の刺激提示ソフトを組み込み、予備実験の最中である(これは当初の研究実施計画の通りである)。明所視における運動閾、運動の速度知覚、CFFなどの非常に精密な測定が要求される問題を取り上げているので、刺激の較正に多大な時間がかかり、今年度は本実験開始までには至らなかったが、来年度には本実験に入れる予定である。中心窩から視角で50°位までのこめかみ側、鼻側、中心窩上方・下方の主要4方向の網膜部位において測定を行い、それらが刺激光の太きさ、輝度等から受ける影響について探究しているわけであるが、本実験ではさらに精密な測定をすることを考えている。特に、中心視と周辺視における視覚的遂行課題による差異の現れ方、両者における精度の比較、それらにおける個人差等を、大脳皮質視覚領の拡大率を考慮した手続きにより明らかにするつもりである。
