项目摘要

上記研究課題の下で、私たちは、(2,2,2,2)型虚アーベル体K(つまり、2次体の合併体で、有理数体上16次のもの)の単数指数Q_Kを決定する公式を、その実2次部分体の基本単数から構成した。体Kが8分体を含まない場合は平成4年度に完成し、その結果をまとめた論文は既に受理されていて、本年度に校正が終了した。体Kが8分体を含む場合が本年度のテーマである。単数指数Q_Kの判定に必要なKの最大実部分体の単数を具体的に指定し、Q_Kが判定できる公式を構成した。この結果をまとめた論文を8月に投稿し、1月に受理された。単数指数Q_Kが現れるKの相対類数hK^^*をMallet行列式で表す公式はCarlitz-Olsonから始められ、最近Girstmairによって一般化された。私たちも虚巡回体Kの場合について、Girstmairと異なる方法でKの相対類数hK^^*を行列式で表すことができた。また、研究代表者はこれまでの虚アーベル体の単数指数、相対類数の結果を整理し、金沢大学大学院自然科学研究所に学位を申請し、受理された。さらに、学際的観点からの研究を押し進めるため、伊藤俊次氏(津田塾大学教授)を招請し、タイリングの理論、組み合わせ数学について研究打ち合わせを行った。この打ち合わせは非常に有意義であった。
